What we do
Every cloud has a silver lining, means that you should never feel hopeless because difficult times always lead to better days. There is always opportunity even in global economic turmoil like now.
We can see that there is a big demand in future for iron and steel especially in Indonesia. HM konsultan and partners are providing business development consulting, now focusing in iron ore mining and steel production, but not limited to other sector such as: engineering, heavy equipment, property and construction, patent right, etc. Hopefully when global economic turmoil is over, it will be very high world demand for iron and steel and we are ready to catch the opportunity.
Indonesia now is still developing, Indonesia has very high demand of steel for construction, vehicle, manufacture and machinery, etc. Some government programs which are using a lot of steel such as:
- Kerosene to LPG conversion which needs a lot of gas bottles
- 10,000-megawatt power plant program
- 1,000 subsidized apartment tower blocks
- Aceh-Nias rehabilitation and reconstruction after tsunami project
- Suramadu bridge project to connect Java to Madura island, already finished. It was designed with a strong foundation and is able to hold up for around 100 years. It is 5.4 kilometers in length and was done by 3,500 workers from Indonesia and China. The construction began in 2002 and has used up 28,000 tons of steel and 600,000 tons of mixed steel with the budget of more than Rp. 4 trillion (US$ 400 million). It is now the longest bridge in Indonesia, and even in South East Asia
- Very long bridge will connect Java to Sumatra at Sunda strait (Jembatan Selat Sunda) about 31 km long and 60 m wide, will need about 117 trillion rupiah, 13 billions US dollar with $1 = Rp 9000. Planned to start at 2010 and to finish at the earliest year 2017, feasibility study has already done. Kompas newspaper Tue 18-Aug-09 & Tue 25-Aug-09.
- East Flood Channel for Jakarta
- Road project: West Trans Sumatra road 1500 km will be functional on 2014, West & Mid Trans Celebes road and South Trans Kalimantan road, Trans Java toll road extending form the western and eastern ends of Java. Highway construction mostly are using betont slab, therefore will use steel a lot.
- Demands for steel from various industries in the country such as automotive, electronic and construction industries have continued to increase. Currently property construction uses more steel instead of wood as the prices of wood have already risen.
- As islands country Indonesia needs more sea ports, this could be less expensive then land transport as sea transport is the cheapest transports for heavy weight.
